About the Course
This Special 9-Day Intensive Course is a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the fundamentals of the Sharat Arora Yoga Method. Whilst it has been designed to qualify students for the 160H Immersion Course and 320H Yoga Teacher Training in the Yoga Method, it also stands alone as a rigorous yet relaxing yoga break in the village of Dharamkot in the foothills of the stunning Himalayas.

During the course students will learn a wholesome and complete practice of Yoga Asanas as devised by Master Yoga Teacher Sharat Arora, who has 42 years of teaching and healing experience. This Practice can be adjusted for all body types and ailments. Students will enjoy an intensity of practice which heightens awareness and encourages deep Self-Study, and will learn to continue an independent Self-Practice away from the Centre.

Course Structure:

Days 1 to 2: Special Intensive Weekend, Equivalent to our 5-Day Introductory Course
7:30 – 10:30 Morning Asana Class
11:00 – 11:30 Lunch
3:00 – 6:00 Afternoon Asana Class
6:30 – 7:30 Dinner

Iyengar CentreDays 3 to 7: Join our Continuing Students Class as a second week student
7:00 – 10:00 Morning Asana Class
11:00 – 11:30 Lunch
Afternoon is free to enjoy the surrounding area and tourist sites
6:30 – 7:30 Dinner

Days 8 to 9: Special Intensive Weekend, Equivalent to 3rd week Continuing Students Class
7:00 – 7:30 Self-Practice of Inversions
7:30 – 10:30 Morning Asana class
11:00 – 11:30 Lunch
3:00 – 6:00 Afternoon Asana Class
6:30 – 7:00 Dinner

Classes are timed at 2.5 – 3 hours per session.
Herbal Tea will be made available. It is not advised to eat before class and so Breakfast is not served.

Location
The course takes place in the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre in the beautiful village of Dharamkot surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Spare time can be spent enjoying the nature hikes nearby and tourist spots of McLeodganj and Bhagsu.

Whilst it has been designed to qualify students for the 160H Immersion Course and 320H Yoga Teacher Training in the Sharat Arora Yoga Method, it also stands alone as a rigorous yet relaxing yoga break against the backdrop of stunning snow-capped mountains and in the earshot of a glacial river.

During the course students will learn a wholesome and complete practice of Yoga Asanas as devised by Master Yoga Teacher Sharat Arora, who has 42 years of teaching and healing experience. This Practice can be adjusted for all body types and ailments. Students will enjoy an intensity of practice which heightens awareness and encourages deep Self-Study, and will be able to continue an independent Self-Practice away from the Ashram.

Days 3 to 7: Equivalent to 2nd Week Continuing Students Class
7:30 – 8:00 Self-Practice of Inversions (From Day 4)
8:00 – 11:00 Morning Asana Class
11:30 – 12:30 Lunch
Afternoon is free and you may leave the Ashram for nature walks or to visit the nearby towns
6.30 – 7.30 Dinner

Days 8 to 9: Equivalent to 3rd week Continuing Students Class
7:00 – 7:30 Self-Practice of Inversions
7:30 – 10:30 Morning Asana class
11:00 – 12:00 Lunch
3:00 – 6:00 Afternoon Asana Class

Location
The course takes place at the Himalaya Shanti Ashram. Our beautiful and isolated location enhances a deeper and more focused practice and facilitates the journey inwards. Time off can be spent in contemplation of nature and swimming in the river. Our Organic

Permaculture farm will provide much of your daily food to nourish you in the best way possible.
